Getting Started

Do you represent a charitable / non-for-profit organization and would like access to a high quality website for free?  Are you interested in having a site in which you are in full control of its content?

 First Information Needed

  • Name of Organization
  • Your Contact Information
  • Your Role With the Organization
  • Do you have approval authority?
  • If not, who does approval need to come from?
  • Existing website if any?

What they will need to provide

  • A Domain Name - If they do not have one, they can get one for about $10 on www.godaddy.com.  If they already have one they just need to have the name servers pointed to our name servers.
  • Two volunteers able to maintain the content on your web site.  Volunteers need to have basic computer skills, understand how to use word and save files.  Website development experience is not necessary.  The more computer literate the volunteer the better.  The time requirements depend upon how often you want the site updated with content.  An average site should be updated at a minimum of twice a month.
  • We would like at least one of the volunteers to participate in the TechGoodness user group.  This provides a forum for users of the TechGoodness software to interact with each other to help answer their own questions about the site etc.

What we provide

  • A free website with advanced features (see features list)
  • A server to host the website
  • Bandwidth for the website
  • Technical support for bug fixes
  •  Updates and new functionality added to the site

What we do not provide

  • Someone to update your site for you on an on-going basis.  This program relies on the concept of each organization updating the content of their own site.  While updating content is very easy to do, updating the content for a 50 sites is not in our scope.
  • Domain Name Registration - You will need to register your own domain name.  We can assist you in the process but we prefer that each organization be in full control of their own domain name at all times.
